Located on Curzon Street in Mayfair, Crown Aspinall’s is an exclusive casino and bar/restaurant for members only. This renowned gaming establishment recently underwent a significant transformation. The project was carried out in stages and involved a thorough redesign and refurbishment of both the inside and outside of the casino. The design combines a heritage backdrop with a contemporary layer, featuring handcrafted joinery, bespoke lighting, and statement artwork that exude drama, glamour, and personality.
In partnership with Skin Interior Design, we developed several custom pieces, which included a bar for the Sapphire Room that featured a Veristal caramel composite top, Alpi Pirarucu veneer, and an antique bronze finish for the base. We also produced six dining pedestal tables, each with veneered tops, brass edging, and bases made of black steel and brass, along with bar stools adorned with brass studs, finished in Windsor dark brown to coordinate with the Theatre Royal chairs, and upholstered using Jim Thompson’s Genoa Forest fabric.
Furthermore, we crafted an additional bespoke bar for the Gallery Room, also featuring a Veristal caramel composite top and an antique bronze finish for the base. The selection of high-end materials and fabrics, paired with the craftsmanship we deliver and our unwavering attention to detail, was key in responding to the luxury environment of Crown London. Every piece was meticulously crafted to enhance its refined atmosphere and contribute to its opulent appeal.
The Rosebery provides an opulent environment for savoring the classic tradition of Afternoon Tea. The redesign of the Rosebery Lounge has been intended to invoke a gracefully leisurely morning room, inspired by the hotel’s history, transforming the space into a light-filled, welcoming area reminiscent of a garden room. Given its closeness to Hyde Park, the room showcases fresh, vibrant, and pastoral hues, embellished with soft and refined shapes.
The banquette sofa is a fully upholstered, three-module seating configuration with loose seat cushions. It features an elegant piping detail along the top edge of the seat modules and cushions, enhancing its refined look. Each sofa module has been crafted from a combination of plywood, foam, and Dacron, ensuring robust construction and comfort. The seat cushions, designed for maximum comfort, consist of the same materials, wrapped in fabric. The entire structure rests on a sturdy timber frame made from 40mm thick ash wood, ensuring both longevity and elegance. The 24 dining chairs have been meticulously crafted to match the elegance and comfort of the banquette sofas. The sophisticated design and premium materials render these chairs an ideal addition to the Rosebery Lounge, enriching the overall dining experience.
The brief for The Aubrey has been to take the narrative from Hong Kong and develop it into a bespoke concept and design for Mandarin Oriental. We have produced two banquette sofas. Each two-module upholstered sofa features a leather seat cushion and fabric base and back. The solid timber feet provide a sturdy base, while the piping detail on the leather seat and fabric upholstery adds an elegant touch. Our work on these two restaurants at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park demonstrates our commitment to creating high-quality, bespoke furniture that enhances the luxurious and inviting atmosphere of these esteemed dining venues.
